ULTRASONIC NOZZLE
SprayBlade™ Air Knife
The SprayBlade™ Air Knife is a high-performance attachment that integrates a flat jet air deflector with an ultrasonic atomizing nozzle, forming a laminar, high-velocity air stream that reshapes the mist into a broad, fan-shaped spray. As atomized droplets exit the nozzle, they are entrained into the air stream, which spreads the mist laterally while preserving a tight droplet size distribution. The resulting spray forms a sheet-like coating zone with controllable width and energy, ideal for scalable deposition on flat or curved substrates.

How This Ultrasonic Spray Nozzle Works
The SprayBlade™ Air Knife system is an ultrasonic spray shaping attachment that uses a flat air jet deflector to reshape the ultrasonic mist into a broad, fan-shaped spray. The focused air stream delivers increased kinetic energy to the droplets, helping them overcome boundary layer resistance and adhere more effectively to low-wettability surfaces. Tunable air velocity allows precise control of droplet impact force to match surface energy and substrate geometry, promoting film formation on high-energy or textured surfaces. Multiple units can be aligned in a linear array for unlimited coating widths, making the system well suited for roll-to-roll and inline manufacturing. The result is uniform, high-integrity coatings even in unstable ambient conditions, with stronger impact than vortex systems for applications requiring robust boundary-layer penetration.
