Blood Collection and Blood Gas Tube Coating: Millions of Tubes per Month

Precision interior coating of evacuated blood collection tubes, blood gas collection tubes, syringes, and VBCT devices with EDTA, heparin, silicones, and blood clot activators using airless ultrasonic spray technology, on production coating systems that run millions of tubes per month.

The Challenge

Coating the interior of blind-hole applications like Vacutainer tubes and blood gas collection syringes is extremely difficult with conventional air spray systems. Compressed air causes blow-back in deep, narrow cavities, leading to uneven reagent deposition, wasted materials, and inconsistent anticoagulant performance that compromises downstream assay results.

Our Solution

MicroSpray ultrasonic nozzles operate without compressed air, producing low-velocity droplets that can be robotically guided into narrow tube interiors for full, controlled coverage of targeted areas. Acoustic atomization keeps solids in suspension, preventing agglomeration and ensuring homogeneous coating even with particle-laden solutions like EDTA or heparin formulations.
