Partner With MicroSpray
From feasibility studies to full-scale automation, we partner with companies and universities to solve coating challenges — as hands-on or hands-off as you need us to be.
Start a ConversationEvery partnership starts the same way: a conversation about your material, your substrate, and the outcome you're trying to reach. From there, how involved we get is up to you — some partners want our engineering expertise alongside their own team; others want us to take full ownership of building the process or machine, start to finish.
Two Ways to Work With Us
Collaborative Development
Bring your team's process knowledge and our ultrasonic spray expertise together. We provide equipment, application engineering, and hands-on process development support while your team retains control of the R&D direction and IP.
Full-Service Development
Tell us the coating outcome you need, and our engineers design, build, and validate the complete process or machine for you — from bench-scale feasibility through a production-ready system delivered to your facility.
Who We Partner With
- Industry R&D teams
- University research labs
- National labs and government-funded programs
- Startups scaling from bench-top to pilot production
- OEMs seeking a private-label or integrated coating module
How a Partnership Works
Initial Consultation
We discuss your material, substrate, throughput, and end goals — no cost, no commitment.
Feasibility Study
Bench-scale trials validate the coating approach before either of us commits further resources.
Prototype / Pilot System
A working system sized to your process, ready for real material and real substrates.
Production Scale-Up
Full automation, documented and validated for repeatable, high-volume manufacturing.
Research Collaboration
MicroSpray was launched with a DOE development grant, and we work with many national labs, so we understand both sides of a research partnership. NDAs are welcomed for proprietary work, and we're glad to support co-authored publications when the collaboration is exploratory rather than proprietary.
Free Testing for Academic Researchers
We understand that budgets can be tight, especially in a university setting, which is why we often provide free testing for academic researchers. If you're exploring ultrasonic spray coating for a research project, reach out — we'll run your material on our equipment and share the results.
Research Concepts
Development pathways we have framed from the peer-reviewed literature and our own process work, offered as starting points for a partnership. Each is a stated hypothesis to be tested with a partner, not a qualified process.
Isolator Biodecontamination
Phase-managed hydrogen peroxide delivery for pharmaceutical isolators, RABS, and transfer chambers — using ultrasonic atomization to control what happens to a droplet between the nozzle and the surface, rather than chasing the smallest possible droplet.

Flame Spray Pyrolysis
Ultrasonic nozzles for flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) — a fine, stable aerosol from metal nitrate and organometallic precursor solutions feeding directly into flame reactors for nanoparticle synthesis.
